Preparing for your hospital visit: What to bring and what to leave?
To ensure a smooth admission process, please arrive 3 hours before your scheduled appointment and bring the following:
- Identification: A copy of your ID (Emirates ID for UAE nationals and passport for nonresidents).
- Insurance Information: A valid insurance card, if applicable. Please ensure all planned treatments are pre-authorized by your insurance company for direct billing. Any expenses not covered by your insurance must be paid upon admission via cash or credit/debit card. Abdali Hospital accepts various payment methods, including cash and card payments.
- Medication List: A complete list of all medications you are currently taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements.
- Allergy Information: A list of any allergies you have.
- Lab Samples: Any laboratory samples requested by your doctor or nurse.
- Medical Records (if applicable): If you are transferring from another hospital, please bring copies of your medical records in both English and Arabic, including your current diagnosis, X-ray films, and laboratory test results.
- Dietary and Medication Information: Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or medication-related instructions you have before any procedures.
For your comfort:
- Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing to the hospital.
- Support Person: We recommend having a family member or friend accompany you to assist with the admission process.
Valuables:
- What Not to Bring: To avoid any potential loss or damage, please do not bring valuable personal items such as jewelry (including wedding rings) or large amounts of cash. The hospital is not responsible for unattended personal belongings, valuables, or clothing.
Emergency Admission Procedures
The following procedures apply to emergency admissions:
- Admission Policy: All emergency admissions are conducted by established hospital policy.
- Insurance Pre-authorization: When possible, the hospital will seek pre-authorization from the patient’s insurance provider for treatment coverage.
- Self-Pay Admissions: In cases where immediate contact with the insurance provider is not feasible, the patient or a responsible party will be required to sign an admission form and provide a financial deposit. This deposit will be reimbursed upon insurance approval. The patient is ultimately responsible for any costs not covered by insurance.
- Unaccompanied Patients: In the event a patient arrives unaccompanied, the hospital will initiate necessary treatment and subsequently contact the patient’s family or employer to address administrative requirements.
